American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists

American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (often abbreviated to ACOG) is a private, voluntary, nonprofit membership organization. Today it has over 45,000 members. Its members are physicians, and it functions primarily as a professional and research organization. It is the national’s leading group of professionals providing health care exclusively for women. It was originally founded in Chicago in 1951 but today the headquarters is located in Washington (the address is 409 12th St., S.W., PO Box 96920, Washington, D.C. 20090-6920).
