2 World Financial Center

World Financial Center (often abbreviated to WFC) is a complex of four buildings located on the West Street between Liberty and Vesey Streets, on the Hudson River in Lower Manhattan, New York City. It is the complex neighbouring previous World Trade Center, so it was also partially damaged in terrorist attacks on 11 September, 2001. This complex is home to offices of major corporations. The entire complex is owned by Brookfield Properties, except for the space occupied by American Express. All of the buildings were built in the style of post-modernism.

Between the 2 and 3 World Financial Center there is the Winter Garden located. It is a glass domed pavilion housing various plants, trees and flowers, as well as shopping areas and cafes. It was added to the complex in 1988 by Cesar Pelli and Adamson & Assocs. Landscape architect became M. Paul Friedberg & Assocs. Its roof is 38 metres (125 feet) high and 60 metres (197 feet) long. There are 16 palm trees from the Mojave Desert, each of them 12 metres (39 feet) tall. Portion of the Winter Garden was severely damaged in the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, but has since been reopened after significant repairs.

There is also the Courtyard – a two-level outdoor pizza – that houses four international restaurants and cafés.

2 World Financial Center has 44 floors and is 196.5 metres (644.6 feet) tall. The construction was finished a year after the 1 World Financial Center, in 1987. The tower with a dome-like roof was built by architects Cesar Pelli and Haines Lundberg Waehler. Merrill Lynch is the main tenant of this part. The address is 225 Liberty Street.
