City Place
The City Place in Boston is situated right in the heart of Boston’s Theatre District, close to Back Bay, on 8 Park Plaza in The Massachusetts State Transportation Building at the corner of Stuart and Charles Streets in downtown Boston. Actually, it is surrounded by the best of the city, for example the Ritz-Carlton, The Four Seasons Hotel and Condominiums, Heritage on the Garden, Davio's, McCormick & Schmick, Legal Sea Foods, Maggiano's, Fleming Steakhouse, Boston Commons, Emerson College or New England School of Law.
The City Place is an urban centre, including fine dining, a food court and street retail shops. It covers the area 55,000 square feet (5,110 square metres). To main tenants belong PF Chang's China Bistro, California Pizza Kitchen, Bennigan’s, Rock Bottom Restaurant & Brewery, Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts.
The Massachusetts State Transporting Building was designed in 1980s by SEi and it has remained the representative of one of the most innovative and energy-efficient buildings in Boston. It is a pioneer building in green design (The building has no boiler. The heating system relies on heat recovered from occupants, lights, and equipment as its only heat source. Recovered heat, converted to hot water, is stored in below-grade storage tanks.). The Massachusetts State Transportation Building is mixed-used office building that houses several transportation agencies.
