The Alpha Tower is one of the tallest buildings in Birmingam. It is 100 metres tall (328 feet) with 28 floors. It reminds the Pirelli building in Milan, actually, it is its smaller replica designed by George Marsh of Richard Seifert & Partners. It is a landmark and is a Grade A locally listed building. The Alpha Tower is situated in Suffolk Street, near Broad Street and not far from the Mailbox.

The construction of the building started in 1969 and it was completed in 1973. It is a commercial building, built as the headquarters of ATV. Nowadays it is operated by the developers GVA Grimley and it provides office space for many companies and organizations such as Birmingham City Council, Network Rail, Birmingham Arts Marketing, Jacobs Engineering, and the Criminal Cases Review Commission.

Originally, there was a plan for an adjacent shorter building. However, it was never completed and instead a taller building called V Building is now planned to be built there.
