Hotel am Stephansplatz is situated in the very centre of Vienna, directly opposite Stephansdom, the emblem of Vienna. Its address is Stephansplatz 9, 1010 Vienna. It is a four star hotel. It was first opened in 1956 and it closed just in 2004 up to 2005 because of huge renovation. Even this break was not very long, the project was completed within the remarkable short period of 299 days and the hotel was reopened on 22 April 2005. Both the guests’ rooms and public areas (entrance hall, reception, bar, breakfast rooms, meeting room and small wellness centre – with sauna and fitness for guests) are completely new and designed in contemporary style.
One of the biggest advantages of the Hotel am Stephansplatz is, that thanks to its excellent location various sights, museum, as well as renowned shopping streets are reached by foot. Furthermore, the access to the metro station right in front of the hotel offers a quick and easy connection within Vienna.
There are 56 Rooms and Suites, non smoking floors, as well as rooms for handicapped guests. Each room has high level services: bathroom with bath tube or shower and toilet, hair dryer, bathrobe, towel-drying radiators; radio, satellite TV (flat-panel screen television sets), telephone, high speed internet access, alarm clock; mini-bar; air-condition; room safe; under-floor heating. The rooms are distinguished by friendliness and warmth. Dark acacia parquet flooring, light furniture wood plain veneered in oak in combination with dark-brown leather, walls finished with biological paint coating, isolated windows with triple glazing.
Of course the hotel provides also public parking and other services like , airport transfer, baby changing, babysitting service, car rental, conference facilities, fax service, laundry service, table booking assistance (for restaurants elsewhere in Vienna), tour desk, or 24hr concierge.
As far as prices are concerned they differ according the time of the year. During the high season (1st April – 30th Jun and 1st September -15th November), they are generally a bit higher than any other time of the year.
